Odoo 20: the official recap of what's new

Odoo has published the official recap of version 20: Meet Odoo 20's best features. Thirteen minutes. It is not Fabien's keynote: it is the product video. The release notes are already on odoo.com.

AI: one process, one instruction

The agent understands plain language. Confirm an order when the email arrives, assign a lead, spin up a project when a contract is signed, low-stock alerts. It explains what it will do, then the process runs. You can connect an external AI to the database, with the same user access rights.

CRM, Discuss and Phone

A directory of more than 580 million entities to generate leads. A website visitor becomes a prospect (IP). Import Outlook or Gmail. Scan a business card. The lead lands in the right pipeline.

Discuss brings together chat, channels, video, AI, live chat and WhatsApp. A quick poll. A video call from the browser, no download and no login. The call is recorded and transcribed: click a line and jump to that moment.

Phone: call flows by hours, location or team. Buy the number. Transfer or switch device mid-call.

Website and eCommerce

Describe the page and Odoo builds it: promotions, events, product pages. The agent creates snippets, including interactive ones. Copy, translation and SEO in one click.

In the shop: filter pickup points by country, variant thumbnails, a progress bar toward free shipping, delivery date at checkout, returns from the portal and Pay on Invoice (confirm the order without paying immediately).

Planning, Field Service and offline

Field Service now lives inside Planning. Drag interventions onto the calendar; travel time is calculated for you. Map view with the crew's location. Google and Outlook calendars in one view.

If the signal drops, Odoo works offline: view, edit and create. It syncs when you are back.

Purchasing, stock and manufacturing

AI reviews purchase history to renegotiate. Min-max from the last 30 days of sales and a draft purchase order. Vendor quality rating. Match bill to purchase order, with a warning if they do not line up. Detect and repack if goods arrive stored differently. New shelf labels.

Continuous manufacturing: operators register quantities and the next order is released. Compare bills of materials. Reschedule on the Gantt, with or without buffers. Kanban by colour and priority.

Accounting and payroll

Ask the Accounting agent (receivables, cash flow) and it answers from the reports. A reconciliation audit, cycle by cycle. Pay bills from Odoo: one, in bulk, or sign now and pay later.

Payroll: a dashboard with warnings, simulate the run before validating, schedules by hours per day, work backwards from a net salary, expenses into payroll. It is not adapted to Spanish labour law.
