Match the dashboard bank balance with the general ledger

Odoo’s dashboard shows you a bank balance. The general ledger shows another. It is not a bug: the widget sums the transactions you see when you click. It does not read account 572 from the ledger. If you posted the opening through accounting, or a manual move, the dashboard never hears about it.

In this video Albert makes the two numbers match and, if needed, moves the opening to a 572991 suspense account.

Where each number comes from

The dashboard balance is the sum of the moves you see when you open that bank account. On its own, it has nothing to do with the general ledger.

Albert: do not enter bank operations outside the dashboard statement. If you post them by hand through accounting, the widget and 572 fight.

Remove the opening from the dashboard (without deleting the entry)

In bank transactions, find the opening move and delete it from that view. You are not deleting the accounting: you are telling the widget not to sum it. If there is junk on the statement, drop that too.

If you want the dashboard to be the real bank

The opening should not hit the bank’s 572xxx. Albert posts it against 572991 Liquidity transfer (in the video you hear «liquides»). Suspense account: the widget bank starts at zero and only sums real statements.
